HallzWeNeed

From 2018 to 2019, before officially operating as a non-profit association, our founding members organised a series of conferences, seminars and participatory workshops entitled “HallzWeNeed” around the common theme of industrial culture with the aim of :

  • bringing together diverse people around this unifying theme and explore the prospect of re-using these witnesses of the past,
  • involving the local population in the various activities of the future Centre national de la culture industrielle.

Sadly, the events planned for 2020 and 2021 had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

Our organisation, continued the “HallzWeNeed” event series in 2022, in the frame of our project “MinettREMIX” for Esch2022 European Capital of Culture and we will continue to organise this event series in the future. Look out for new dates under our “Events” section.

Two conferences took place during the year of 2022:

  • HallzWeNeed 6 with the theme: Industrial culture: Halle des Soufflantes
Following our study trip, we organised a conference, to which we invited the various players we had met in the run-up to the development of our concept for the redevelopment of the Halle des Soufflantes.
  • HallzWeNeed 7 with the theme: Landscapes
We organised a discussion on the topic of landscapes in Minett. This discussion was part of the “Minett Mash-up” podcast project and was recorded on the same day as an episode of this communication tool. The recording took place at the Ellergronn in front of the “Blue Hour” work. Afterwards, the participants were invited to take part in a walk. The event was organised in collaboration with the Cooperation for Research and Art (COOPRA), the Administration de la nature et des forêts (ANF) and Minett Unesco Biosphere.
