The Keeseminnen

At the start of 2020, in the frame of our AllHallz working group, our team actively tried to protect the so-called Keeseminnen and the coke silos remains on the former ARBED Terre Rouge site in Esch-sur-Alzette.

We took part in various meetings with all parties involved – the developers, local citizens’ initiatives, and the Ministry of Culture and also organised a peaceful protest in front of the Keeseminnen at the end of April 2020. Today, these key witnesses of our industrial era have sadly been demolished.

This experience will serve as a lesson for the future: to seek and maintain constant exchange with the parties concerned.
