Mining history, sheep, and football – what? Take a listen to our latest Minett Mashup Podcast episode to find out more.
This month, we travelled to the Museum of the Cockerill Mine, a former mining site which is also part of our partner network, with Freestyle Footballer and Filmaker Sven Fielitz, our first non-Minett region guest. The museum has been amazingly restored thanks to amazing volunteers who are motivated to share our industrial past with future generations. Nestled in a beautiful Ellergronn nature reserve, which is also a part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it gives a great insight into the world of miners through various artifacts and documentation.
Minett Mash-Up – De Podcast is a collaborative project between the Minett UNESCO Biosphere, the Musée vun der Aarbecht (MUAR), and our non-profit organisation Industriekultur-CNCI. The podcast is hosted in Luxembourgish and our episodes are available on all major streaming platforms – Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Youtube. For the latest updates follow the hashtag #MinettMashUp.

About our guest:
Sven Fielitz is a master of two trades: freestyle football and filmmaking. After starting out as a regular football player, the influence of other talented freestyle athletes, inspired Sven to take on Freestyle Football for himself. Since making it his profession, Sven has competed in several international competitions and has also participated in various artistic projects. Along the way, he has always filmed his freestyling, and during his studies, Sven’s career as a filmmaker also took off organically. As a young filmmaker, he is experimenting with producing different videos – from weddings to events, dance performances and promo videos.
Follow Sven on freestyling Instagram page and his filmmaking Instagram page.
