Today the Schungfabrik in Tétange is the cultural centre of the municipality of Kayl-Tétange. This listed building is closely linked to the industrial history of the Minett region.

The origins of the Schungfabrik date back to 1880, when Mathias Hubert founded a small shoe manufacturing and repair workshop. As demand for sturdy work shoes for miners and steel workers ⛏️ increased, the site gradually expanded in the early 20th century into a real factory.

After production stopped in the 1960s, the building was acquired by the municipality and transformed into a cultural venue during the 1980s. The cultural centre officially opened in 1990.

Today, the Schungfabrik hosts concerts, performances, exhibitions, educational activities and cultural events. Since 2022, the site also includes the Musée FERRUM, dedicated to local history and the industrial heritage of the region.
