MEET OUR NETWORK | MUAR – Musée vun der Aarbecht

The Musée vun der Aarbecht is the first museum of work in Luxembourg. Its name, a wordplay meaning “tomorrow,” fully reflects its ambition: to bring the immaterial phenomenon of work to life in all its dimensions and make it accessible to the public.

Inspired by the dynamic of Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture, the non-profit organization MUAR established itself in the heart of the Minett. Without fixed walls, the museum unfolds across various spaces and events, showcasing the industrial heritage of the region while opening up reflection on contemporary social and economic transformations.

Through exhibitions, conferences, round tables, and cultural events, the MUAR addresses essential topics such as human rights, working conditions, inequalities, and the transformations of the professional world.

Engaged in its territory, it is notably a partner of the podcast Minett Mash-Up, a project jointly led by the Biosphère Minett UNESCO and the CNCI, which highlights the history, culture, and transformations of the Minett.

MUAR’s exhibitions are regularly presented at the Musée Ferrum.

Currently, you can still discover the exhibition “Sneaky Sneakers – That’s Not FAIR!” at the Musée Ferrum until March 29.

This exhibition is the result of a collaboration between MUAR and the NGO Fairtrade Luxembourg, organized as part of the “Rethink Your Clothes” campaign, supported by Luxembourg Development Cooperation.
