CNCI Invited to the First Creative Greater Region Academic Meet-Ups in Namur

On 21 October, Marie Dumond and Anne-Catherine Richard were pleased to represent the CNCI at the first edition of the Creative Greater Region Academic Meet-Ups, held at the University of Namur and organised by Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) and its partners, following KIKK Connect.

The event brought together researchers, academics and professionals from the cultural, creative and digital sectors across the five territories of the Greater Region – Wallonia-Brussels, Luxembourg, Grand Est, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate – as well as Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Spain.

The CNCI was particularly delighted to have been invited to take part in this day of exchanges, which provided an opportunity to discover new initiatives, connect with professionals from complementary fields of expertise and explore potential collaborations at cross-border and European levels.

During the afternoon, five roundtable discussions explored various cooperation and funding opportunities under the European programmes Horizon Europe and Creative Europe. Topics included cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural heritage, and media literacy.

These discussions highlighted the many connections between heritage, research, innovation and the creative industries, while identifying potential avenues for joint projects at European level.

The day concluded with a lecture by Maxime Blondeau (Sciences Po Paris / Mines Paris) on the relationship between digital technologies and territories, encouraging participants to rethink territorial challenges and cross-border cooperation.

For the CNCI, this invitation represented a valuable opportunity to strengthen its ties with academic and cultural networks across the Greater Region, share its expertise in industrial heritage and explore new possibilities for collaboration.
