MEET OUR NETWORK | Luxembourg Science Center

Located in Differdange, the Luxembourg Science Center is a playful, interactive and immersive discovery centre dedicated to science and new technologies.

Open since 2017, it welcomes a wide variety of audiences, from families and individual visitors to schools, youth groups, seniors and companies. Nearly 70,000 people visit the Science Center every year.

Its approach is based on a simple idea: discovering science through experimentation. In its large exploration hall, nearly 100 interactive stations invite visitors to touch, test, observe and understand a wide range of scientific and technological phenomena.

Daily Science Shows and workshops complement the experience. Led by science communicators, they explore fields ranging from physics and chemistry to electricity, astronomy and mathematics.

From industrial training to scientific culture

The Luxembourg Science Center is housed in the former Léierbud in Differdange. The building was once used to train new workers for the steel industry.

After this function ended in 2014, the site acquired a new educational purpose with the opening of the Science Center in 2017. From the transmission of industrial skills to the exploration of science and technology, the building therefore continues a history closely connected with learning and the sharing of knowledge.

Its location also places the Luxembourg Science Center firmly within Differdange’s industrial landscape, which remains strongly shaped by the history and continuing presence of the steel industry.
