Journées européennes du Patrimoine | Petites briques pour grande friche – Children’s Workshop – 18 october 2026
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2026, the CNCI and LUCA are offering an architecture workshop for young audiences focusing on Belval’s industrial heritage.
Designed as a multi-stage journey, the workshop invites children to discover the history and architecture of a former steelworks site, now transformed into a university and cultural district.
Through observation of the site and a hands-on building activity using mini bricks, participants will be encouraged to reflect on the challenges involved in transforming former industrial sites.
In connection with this year’s theme, “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reinvent”, the workshop will explore how industrial buildings that were once at risk of abandonment or demolition can be reinvented and given new uses.
