Minett Mash-Up – Episode 49

In 2026, Minett Mash-Up explores the theme of work in the steel and mining industries. For this new episode, the team travelled to the Fond-de-Gras, one of Luxembourg’s emblematic industrial heritage sites.

Once an important centre for iron ore extraction, the Fond-de-Gras is now part of the Minett Park, together with Lasauvage. Today, the site keeps this history alive thanks to the dedication of those who restore, maintain and share this heritage with the public.

In this episode, Robyn Wehles, Director of the Minett Park, looks back at the history of the site and its role today. Charel Kugeler, a dedicated member of Train 1900, presents the association that operates this historic railway line. Finally, Joël Miltgen, President of the Minièresbunn Doihl association, takes us to Lasauvage to discover the former mining gallery that was brought back into use in the 1990s.

An episode about industrial memory, community engagement and living heritage, in the heart of the Minett.
